Hailey Baldwin slams ‘dumb’ Justin Bieber fans for trying to ‘tear down’ her marriage

Hailey Baldwin has slammed haters for attempting to “tear down” her marriage to Justin Bieber after he told fans he was “struggling”.

The 22-year-old model appeared to brand Biebers’ fan army “dumb” for “wanting” to see their relationship fail less than a year after they tied the knot.

“I don't know if it's because they want to be able to say, ‘I told you so' or because they want to be right, I don't really know what the idea is behind trying to tear somebody's relationship down, or person down, whatever it may be," she told Cosmopolitan.

Baldwin also blasted her beau’s fan base for being so “possessive” over the star, saying that they don’t really “know” him.

“The problem too is kids become possessive over people and feel like if they think they're hurt, they feel hurt for them and they're hurt too, or whatever it is," she said

"I’m like, you actually don’t know me. You don’t know him. You don’t know her, you don’t know these people for real. What’s really weird to me is they create scenarios in their head of what they think is happening or what they think should happen, and I’m just like, ‘This is just so dumb. It’s so dumb.’"

Her comments come after Bieber, 25, updated fans on his mental health, asking them to “pray for me” after telling them he has been feeling “disconnected and weird”.

“Just wanted to keep you guys updated a little bit hopefully what I’m going through will resonate with you guys,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Been struggling a lot. Just feeling super disconnected and weird… I always bounce back so I’m not worried just wanted to reach out and ask you guys to pray for me."

Baldwin previously appeared to blast reports claiming she had "trust issues" with her other half, warning her fans not to "believe everything you read on the internet".

In February, it was reported that the couple, who were legally married in a courthouse ceremony in September, had chosen to push back the religious ceremony they had planned in a bid to allow Bieber to focus on his “mental wellbeing.”

“Right now, Justin’s focus is getting well mentally,” a source told PEOPLE.

“He is very focused and committed to getting help. Hailey is very supportive – Justin is very open about that, Hailey does nothing but help him.”
