A spring hailstorm left a carpet of white over roads in the Adelaide Hills, creating a wintry scene on September 29.

The hail sparked hazardous driving conditions for commuters, South Australia Police said.

Slow-moving thunderstorms delivered the hail, along with heavy rainfalls in the Mount Lofty Ranges and Mid North, with Kapunda West recording 74 millimeters in 24 hours, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. Credit: pink_koala21 via Storyful
