Their band is already a family affair — and the Haim sisters credit their success to their musician parents.

“They never wanted us to just sit on our a**** and hope the world would give us everything,” Alana, 25, the keyboardist and rhythm guitarist, told ES Magazine. “‘You guys want to be a band? Practise your f****** asses off.’”

Danielle, 28, guitarist and lead vocalist, said their father’s own drum practice also helped.

“He set up a drumkit right in our living room and would just play,” she said.

Bassist Este, 31, added: “I think that’s how he got us to not watch TV.” Haim, who are based in Los Angeles, released their first album, Days Are Gone, to acclaim in 2013.

Their second album, Something To Tell You, is out on July 7.
