Hairy Bikers' Dave Myers' Dave Day cavalcade on M6 through Staffordshire today

A cavalcade celebrating the life of TV chef Dave Myers is travelling along the M6 through Staffordshire today. Dave Day started in London this morning and culminates in the TV star's hometown of Barrow.

The cavalcade is scheduled to leave a stop at The National Motorcycle Museum, in the West Midlands, at 10.45am before travelling north along the M6 through Staffordshire and making its next stop at Knutsford Services at 12.30pm. Dave lost his cancer fight in February at the age of 66.

Widow Lili Myers said: "It just helps me go through my process of grief. It just makes me feel that I’m not on my own with all this."

The other half of The Hairy Bikers - Si King - estimates 20,000 people are taking part in Dave Day. The party begins in Barrow at 4pm.

Si said: “It’s a celebration of my best friend that we’ve lost and it’s very emotional. You never know how these things are going to impact you. It is a celebration of Dave’s life. That’s why we’re here because he was so irritatingly positive all of the time. We love him and that’s why we’re here.”
