New Halal butchers opens following extensive renovations

A new Halal butchers has had its grand opening in Blackburn.

‘A Star’ Halal Meats is based at the junction of Audley Range and Chester Street.

The premises was formerly known as Solkar Halal Meats and is located close to the Noorul Islam Mosque.

As well as renovating the interior and installing new flooring and ceiling, the owners have fitted new fridges as part of the makeover.

A halal butchers had been based at this location for many years until Solkar Halal Meats closed earlier this year.

The new venture is being led by Asif Ali who has 18 years’ experience as a butcher and Mohammed Asif Butt who has 15 years’ experience.

Asif said: “It has been great seeing people who were regulars returning here.

"We have nothing to do with old butchers and are starting fresh at this location.

“We have completely renovated the interior and hope the local community like the new look.

"Everything inside is brand new from the ceiling to the fridges and storage areas.”

Asif added: “We source high quality meats and have some great opening offers on.

"The response from all the customers in our opening week has been wonderful.

“We would like to thank the local community for their support.”
