Ahead of the launch, preparations are ongoing in the historic courtyard. Taking to social media, the team posted: “Exciting changes are coming to the Piece Hall as we prepare the courtyard for an incredible summer of live shows.

“Over the next couple of weeks, things may look a little different around here, but all our fantastic independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants will remain open as usual. Once the gig season starts, our retailers will close a little earlier on event days, with the building itself closing at 4pm to get ready for the evening’s performances. However, the Piece Hall will open an hour earlier at 9am daily (from Saturday, June 1 until Saturday, August 31) to allow extra trading time.

“So come on down, grab a bite, browse the shops, and soak up the buzz as we gear up for an unforgettable summer of live acts. Thanks for your patience while we get everything ready.”
