Halle Berry proved herself to be a good sport after taking a tumble at a recent charity event.

The Hollywood actress, 56, was invited as a guest of honour at the Looking Beyond Luncheon in Los Angeles, California, when her embarrassing fall took place.

Berry posted a clip of the incident on Instagram, which saw her heading to the stage at the event to make a speech, before face planting right in front of shocked guests.

The edited video uses the record scratch, movie freeze-frame effect with “yup, that’s me” added to highlight her stumble.

Teasing herself about the blunder, Berry wrote: “Sometimes you bust your ass!”

She then explained: “What happened was….

“My dear friend Shilla Hekmat invited me to speak at her charity event celebrating a wonderful organisation called Looking Beyond that raises money for children with special needs… then that happened!!! I face planted.

“If you can, go to lookingbeyondla.com and donate. Children are worth it!”

Looking Beyond is an organisation dedicated to enriching the lives of those with special needs.

Berry had attended the charity event with her partner Van Hunt, whom she has been dating since 2020.

While making her speech following her fall, Berry jokily warned that the Grammy-winning musician would “come” for anyone who shared footage of the tumble online.

“If I see this on the internet… Van’s coming for you!” Berry said to a laughing audience.

Last year, Berry spoke about having “found the one” in partner Hunt, 52, as she discussed how they first bonded on the phone during the pandemic.

“We were forced to only let our brains connect and discover if we had a connection before our bodies decided to get involved,” Berry told AARP.

“I’d never done it this way.

“I really believe I’ve found my person. I fell in love with him before I even met him.”

Berry continued: “As a mom living this modern, blended family, all I care about is that my kids are OK with the decisions I’m making.”

The actress shares daughter Nahla, 13, with ex Gabriel Aubry, and also has son Maceo, eight, with the actor Olivier Martinez. Hunt has a son with a previous partner.
