Halle Berry reveals Prince once asked her out using a 'piece of paper' at his concert

The actress admitted that she "didn't send the paper back" after the late musician asked her out and kept it instead.

Halle Berry is remembering the time Prince used schoolyard tactics to ask her on a date. 

While visiting Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday, the Never Let Go actress revealed that the late “Raspberry Beret” singer, who died in 2016, once asked her out at his concert using only a piece of paper.

The conversation came about after host Jimmy Kimmel asked Berry if there was any truth to the rumors that Michael Jackson once recruited Babyface to help him ask Berry if she’d go out with him. In response, the Oscar winner said, “I don't know, but I know Prince asked me out on a date.”

She noted, however, that Prince's proposal wasn't exactly done in person.

"I was at one of his concerts here on Sunset at the Key Club, and he had somebody come out with a piece of paper. And you know like kids do, you say, 'Do you like me? Yes or no.' I went, yes!” She explained. “I mean, I'm at his concert, right? Yes!"

She continued, "Came back out again: 'Would you go out with me?'"

This time around though, Berry did not respond. "No, I didn't send the paper back,” she said. “I kept the paper."

To which Kimmel, naturally, then asked, “Can I have it?”

The late-night host also marveled over the idea of Prince trying to set up a date with Berry while also performing at the show. “So wait, between guitar solos he’s scribbling down notes?” He asked. “He’s like, ‘Bring this to Halle, let’s see.’”

Berry, who appeared equally mystified by Prince's magical ways, simply replied, “Somehow, I got it.”
