'Hallelujah!': Owners of Parched New South Wales Property Rejoice After Downpour

A heavy downpour of rain brought joy to the owners of a property at Jilliby on the Central Coast as widespread rain eased dry conditions on Friday, January 17.

Instagram user ‘noordinarymumma’, who shared this footage with the caption ‘hallelujah!!!’, told Storyful: “We’ve had to buy water for months and our dam was almost dry.”

Only a month earlier, firefighters were battling a major bushfire on the Central Coast.

New South Wales experienced widespread rain on the Friday, with some areas receiving more than 100 millimetres in 24 hours.

While the rain on the Central Coast was a relief for some, a flash flood caused chaos at the nearby Australian Reptile Park, which was forced to close as it relocated animals.
