Halloween events for adults in Liverpool and Merseyside
Halloween is just around the corner and there's no shortage of horrifying events all across Merseyside. While the majority cater to children and families, there are a few experiences that will push even adults to their limits.
Seel Street's The Oracle will host demon-summoning rituals while Newsham Scream Park invites guests to tour the dilapidated haunted hospital. There are also ghost tours and historic walks for Halloween lovers who prefer not to be scared to death.

Demon Summoning Rituals
The Oracle, located on Seel Street, will host large groups as part of a demonic summoning ritual experience. The Oracle is a 1900s-style speakeasy cocktail bar with close-up magicians visiting your table. The venue hosts annual Halloween shows which have previously dabbled in witchcraft, forbidden rituals and provoking demonstrations of the occult.
This year's experience, A Tale of Blood and Shadow, will see The Oracle host "a demonic ritual that will stir your soul." Performed by Kabir Singh, a travelling magician from the east, the show is created by the bar's top magic consultants and will only run for a very limited time.

Newsham Scream Park
Four new experiences will also be added to the park in previously inaccessible areas in time for Halloween. They include: ‘The Mortuary’, ‘HUMANimal’, 'The Priest Hood’ and ‘Under the Bed’. Further additions include the horror selfie museum, new street entertainment, stage acts and live music, food court and licensed bars, plus tarot readers, mystics, fortune tellers and more.
The hospital has been described as the most haunted building in Liverpool with previous visitors requiring a safe word to cope with the experience.

River of Light
The free event sees international artists come together to showcase their work through a range of illuminated installations that take over Liverpool's Pier Head and Royal Albert Dock. The theme for this year's River of Light is 'Play'.
The best light artists in the world have used the theme as inspiration resulting in 12 installations for 2024. To mark Diwali, the Festival of Light, on Friday, November 1, Culture Liverpool is working with Liverpool-based Indian arts and culture organisation, Milap to programme activity which will take place near to the Rangoli Mirrored Cosmos installation.

Ghost Hunting at Croxteth Hall
Haunted Rooms is hosting a night of ghost hunting at Croxteth Hall, one of Merseyside's most historic and infamously haunted locations. Inside the building lurks several ghosts including a young boy, a dark shadowy figure that moves around the billiard room, and a gentleman, believed to be the 6th Earl of Sefton, walking through the tearoom and his former bedroom.

Shiverpool Tours
Audiences can choose from three city centre tours, all of which are delivered in the company’s distinctive trademark street theatre style. Led by Victoriana costumed guides, each activity explores a different quarter of the city of Liverpool, including landmarks and beautiful green spaces offering a supernatural backdrop to each tour experience.
