Jamie Lee Curtis has joined the Borderlands movie.
Curtis will portray a Pandora-based archaeologist called Tannis, who has a complicated history with Borderlands' protagonist and legendary thief Lilith, played by Cate Blanchett.
Posting to Twitter on Monday (February 8), Curtis confirmed the news, dubbing the film a "fun, run and gun and kick some ASS thrill ride".
"MONDAY JUST GOT WAY F'ING BETTER!" she wrote. "Looking SO forward to joining @eliroth@KevinHart4real and #CateBlanchett in @Lionsgate fun, run and gun and kick some ASS thrill ride!"
Last month, it was confirmed that Jumanji actor Kevin Hart has been cast as highly-trained former Atlas soldier Roland in the film – as the comedy actor takes on a more serious role.
Borderlands will be directed by Eli Roth, with a script from Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin.
Mazin teased the project on Twitter last year, having previously worked on movies including Identity Thief and The Hangover Part II and III.
Speaking about reuniting with Blanchett on the project – the pair worked on The House with a Clock in Its Walls together – Roth previously explained: "From drama to comedy and now action, Cate makes every scene sing.
"Working with her is truly a director's dream come true, and I feel so fortunate that I get to do it again on an even bigger scale."
The first Borderlands game was released in 2009, with the franchise's third instalment being released in September 2019,
