The 21-year-old songstress - whose real name is Ashley Frangipane – says she woke up in a hotel room screaming and bleeding and realised what had happened, but was due to perform on stage later that day.

Despite wanting to cancel her show, she was advised against it, and went on to give the “angriest” show she’d ever given.

She told the publication: “I’m like, ‘I have to cancel this show!’ And everyone’s kind of like, 'Well, it’s Vevo LIFT, and it’s three million impressions, so…’

"It’s the angriest performance that I’ve ever done in my life."That was the moment of my life where I thought to myself, 'I don’t feel like a f***ing human being anymore.’

"I walked offstage and went into the parking lot and just started throwing up.”

The star has thanked her supporters on Twitter for standing by her and sending wishes of support, and called out the few online trolls who called her a liar and mocked her.

She tweeted: “It was a year ago and I am growing past it and I am looking forward to the possibilities the future will bring me in having my own family.

“Those of you turning this into an opportunity to bully me: I’d say I hope you understand one day but I wouldn’t wish this upon anyone.

“Those of you who have tweeted me kind things, thank you for your support.”

From her kick ass look to her fierce lyrics, Halsey is seemingly unbreakable, but the star admitted she blames herself for her loss because leads a hectic lifestyle. And though she wasn’t indulging in alcohol or drugs, she thinks her schedule and exhaustion had a part to play in her loss.

She added: “I beat myself up for it. I think that the reason it happened is just the lifestyle I was living. I wasn’t drinking. I wasn’t doing drugs. I was f***ing overworked, in the hospital every couple of weeks because I was dehydrated, needing bags of IVs brought to my green room. I was anaemic, I was fainting. My body just broke the f**k down.”
