The first pictures of the London cast of Hamilton have been released, offering a glimpse of the much anticipated West End production.

Lin-Manuel Miranda's Pulitzer Prize-winning musical opened for previews at the Victoria Palace Theatre last night. The opening was pushed back after delays in building work caused some previews to be cancelled.

The show tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of America, through hip hop.

It has won multiple awards, including 11 Tony Awards, and was performed at a farewell dinner for Barack Obama at the White House last year.

In the West End production, newcomer Jamael Westman takes on the title role and Giles Terera plays Aaron Burr, a part originated by Leslie Odom Jr.

Tickets for the show are harder to find than a moment of silence on Donald Trump’s Twitter timeline, but a daily lottery for £10 tickets was recently announced giving fans a new opportunity to try and nab them.
