'Dancing On Ice' skater Hamish Gaman 'not OK' after parting ways with Caprice

Dancing On Ice professional Hamish Gaman has broken his silence following his split from skating partner Caprice Bourret, saying he is “not okay”.

Gaman and the model were paired up on the ITV ice-skating competition but earlier this month it was announced that they had “parted ways”, and Bourret now has a new partner.

Gaman has now addressed the split in an emotional Twitter post in which he thanks his girlfriend Amelia Humfress for her support.

“Hi everyone,” he wrote.

“Thank you so much for your kind messages.

"I've been overwhelmed by your love and support - it's brought me to tears at times.

"Honestly, I'm not okay, but I'd like to thank Amelia, my pro family and ITV for doing all they can to support me.”

He added: “I'm comforted knowing the truth always comes out in the end, and I hope we can focus on the skating again now."

News that Bourret and Gaman were no longer skating together came during the January 19 episode of the hit show.

Bourret did not take part that week, although Gaman did appear in the group skate.

Host Holly Willoughby revealed: “Unfortunately, Caprice and Hamish have parted ways and will not be skating this week.

“As you saw in our opening number, Hamish remains one of the members of our professional team and we hope to have Caprice back on the ice next week.”

Bourret did return the following week with new partner Oscar Peter, who she has said is “amazing”.

The reason for the split is not known.
