Hamleys reveals predicted Christmas toy best-sellers and there's some classics on the list
Hamleys, the renowned toy retailer, has revealed its predictions for this year's most popular Christmas toys. The list includes new releases from Moana and Transformers, as well as timeless favourites like Play-Doh and cars.
The most expensive items include a £120 lifelike baby doll and a £79.99 Lego Transformer Bumblebee. However, the ever-popular LOL Surprise collectibles are back with their latest Mermaid Tots edition for just £9.99.
Paw Patrol also returns with the Rescue Wheels Deluxe Vehicle, complete with oversized tyres, a motorised winch, grappling hook, projectile launcher, flashing lights and sounds, all for £44.99. Other anticipated best-sellers include a £29.99 singing Moana doll, which plays the Disney song 'How Far I’ll Go' when her necklace is pressed, and an 11-inch high plush Stitch from Disney’s Lilo And Stitch franchise that moves and giggles when shaken.

Play-Doh is also making a comeback with its Marvel Hulk Smash and Squish set, which includes a green action figure, 360-degree pressing tool and three moulds for creating tanks, trucks and various shapes. For more active play, there's the remote-control Bulldozer Stunt Bounce Car with dynamic suspension, lights, three-gear acceleration and 360-degree rotation and 180-degree flip modes for £45, and the Monster Rotary Excel Electric Blaster with a 32-dart cartridge for £40.
For quieter activities, Hasbro’s latest Drop Trivia game for ages six and up features voice command and sound effects for £24.99.
Pre-schoolers are predicted to be asking for the £49.95 Numberblocks Five Musical Superstar Stage this year, an interactive playset that combines singalong and sound effects with some maths skills. Victoria Kay, Hamleys' head buyer, commented: "Some of the toys on this year’s list foster a sense of connection, comfort and familiarity, whether they are transforming Bumblebee, sending Chase on an epic Paw Patrol rescue mission or enjoying Stitch giggle his way around the home."
She added: "There’s also toys that simply endure year-on-year like Play-Doh, fun cars and the latest dart blaster."
