Han Solo film will reveal how he met Chewbacca
We still don't know too much about Solo: A Star Wars Story even though it's due out in May (just announce these films for December, Disney), except that it will focus on a young Han Solo at some point in his life.
Well, it has now been reported that the upcoming anthology film will chronicle an important moment for the smuggler-turned-Rebel General: his first meeting with everyone's favourite Wookiee, Chewbacca.
An official Disney synopsis states: "Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future co-pilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga's most unlikely heroes."
Donald Glover has been cast as the young Lando to Alden Ehrenreich's Han, while Woody Harrelson, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emilia Clarke, Paul Bettany and Thandie Newton have also been cast as what we're assuming are all-new characters.
Interestingly, The Dark Knightstar Christian Bale was in talks for the film, and although it didn't happen, he is still a huge Star Wars nerd and wants to appear in a future picture in the franchise.
Ron Howard's Solo: A Star Wars Story is due for release on May 25, 2018 (but don't be surprised if it comes out in December).
