Handmaids Protest Outside Amy Coney Barrett Hearing in Washington

The first day of the US Senate’s confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett saw crowds gather outside the court in Washington, among them protesters dressed as characters from Margaret Atwood’s novel The Handmaid’s Tale.

This clip shows protesters dressed as handmaids holding signs in support of abortion rights, as they file past supporters of Barrett’s nomination, who carry their own placards.
