Happy Birthday Prince Louis! Pictures of the young Prince with Kate Middleton and the family for his first birthday

Prince Louis, the youngest of the Cambridge clan, turns one today. Louis is fifth in line to the throne after his siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. While he has rarely been seen out in public, his mother Kate Middleton has shared birthday portraits of Prince Louis today snapped in their back garden in Norfolk.

We’ll probably see more of Louis in the years to come and he could throw a joint birthday party next year with his future cousin, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s due date is rumoured to be towards the end of April.

Prince Louis’ first public photocall happened immediately after he was born on the steps of the Lindo Wing, as his parents posed for photographers with Louis swaddled in Kate Middleton’s arms. It was a moment likened to one of Princess Diana’s previous photocalls - when she posed on the steps to present Prince Harry to the world - as Kate wore a crimson dress with a white collar similar to the outfit worn by her late mother-in-law.

Louis also stole his sister Princess Charlotte’s thunder on her third birthday, as Kensington Palace revealed two pictures of the royals a few weeks after Louis' birth.

Louis also gave his father’s hairline a run for its money in the Cambridge’s 2018 Christmas card, which saw the family of five pose for pictures at their Norfolk home Anmer Hall. The portrait was again snapped by photographer Matt Porteous and showed Louis grinning at the camera as his older brother George kicked up his heels in the background.
