Haribo fans realise what iconic sweet really is – and it's not what you think
Haribo enthusiasts have been thrown into confusion after realising the sweet they thought was a key isn't what it appears.
A chap took to Reddit to settle a fiery dispute with his wife, posting: "After five years of marriage, we've just discovered that my wife and I refer to this particular Haribo sweet as something different to each other. What do you call this Haribo?"
Reddit users were torn; some adamant it was a dummy, others convinced it's a key, with one maverick claiming it's actually a looking glass. One user commented: "I used to call them keys before I found out they were dummies."
Another wrote: "I always thought they were meant to be a fizzy version of the 'ring' Haribos but dummy makes sense now that I take another look at it. Never liked Tangfastics though."

Another person confessed: "It was a key to me but I know they're apparently dummies. But they're clearly not dummies." And someone else stated: "It's a dummy but I call it the key."
Haribo settled the debate once and for all, declaring the sweet in question is indeed a dummy. Haribo offers packs and tubs filled exclusively with the much-contested dummy sweets.
Joining the fray, one contributor pointed out: "Dummies, it says so on their packaging..." while a separate commenter confirmed: "It's a dummy. The things babies put in their mouths."
The social media sphere was left astonished after a user revealed the green Haribo gummy bear is actually strawberry-flavoured, toppling the common assumption of it being lime or apple.
This unexpected twist sent shockwaves through Twitter, now X, with one stunned user declaring: "Calling the police over whether the green Haribo gummy bears are strawberry or apple."
Despite the surprise, the flavours - including orange, strawberry, pineapple, lemon and raspberry - have always been detailed on Haribo's packets and website, prompting less surprise among those who had paid attention to the labelling.
