The family of a man who was stabbed to death in west London have told of their “devastation” as a £10,000 reward was offered for information.

Harit Singh Dulai, 44, was attacked and knifed in the chest next to a tennis court in Rosedale Park, Hayes, at about 6.40pm on January 27 last year.

He died a few hours later in hospital.

A 16-year-old boy accused of the killing was acquitted following a trial at the Old Bailey in July.

A £10,000 reward has now been offered for information that would lead to solving the case as Mr Dulai’s family said they still hoped his killer would be caught.

In a statement, his family said: "It is now over a year since Harjit’s death and we are still mourning his loss.

“We are devastated by what happened. The person who murdered him continues to walk free and we need him caught.

"We would ask anyone with information that could help the police investigation to please come forward."

Scotland Yard said the reward would only apply to information passed directly to the Crimestoppers anonymous line rather than the police.

Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, of the Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: “I'm certain people in the local area will have spoken about the motive, who is responsible, where the murder weapon is and what the suspect did afterwards.

“You may feel frightened about speaking out and 'snitching' but by maintaining your silence you're keeping a killer at large and denying Mr Dulai's family justice.

"He was a much-loved son, father, brother and uncle and did not deserve to die in such a brutal and needless fashion. Do the right thing and make that call."

A post-mortem examination gave Mr Dulai’s cause of death as a knife wound to the chest.

Another seven people - six men and one woman - were arrested during the course of the investigation but later released with no further action.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. The reward is valid for three months.
