Warner Bros has been throwing around plenty of potential comic book movie ideas over the last few years. Some of them, like the standalone Batfleck movie, are up in the air, while ones we didn't expect to happen, like Joaquin Phoenix's Joker movie, are actually happening.

Now another one of DC's films has gotten one step closer to reality, as the Harley Quinn girl gang movie has been given a release date.

The movie, which may or may not be called Birds of Prey, will be released on February 7, 2020, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Margot Robbie will be reprising her role from Suicide Squad, while the studio is apparently circling some talented actresses to play the other Birds.

According to reports, Black Canary could be played by Black Mirror's Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Underground star Jurnee Smollett-Bell or Hidden Figures actress/bloody incredible musician Janelle Monáe.

Meanwhile, the character of Huntress could go to Scott Pilgrim vs the World's Mary Elizabeth Winstead, The Leftover's Margaret Qualley, or Black Mirror's Cristin Milioti.

They are also looking to cast the roles of Renee Montoya (also known as The Question) and Cassandra Cain (who is sometimes Batgirl, sometimes Orphan, and sometimes the Black Bat).

Margot Robbie has also been linked to a Harley and Joker movie with Jared Leto, a Suicide Squad sequel and a musical where she learns to get over the feeling of being ostracised by an anti-crazy clown lady society.

We might have made the last one up.
