Harrison Ford jokingly called Mads Mikkelsen a Nazi on the 'Indiana Jones' set
Mads Mikkelsen recalled working with Harrison Ford on "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny."
Mikkelsen played the Nazi villain Jürgen Voller in the movie.
He said Ford was "goofy" all the time and once shouted, "There's that Nazi!" at him on set.
Mads Mikkelsen has nothing but good things to say about working with Harrison Ford — even after the "Indiana Jones" star called him a Nazi.
In an interview with Business Insider about his new film "The Promised Land," Mikkelsen revisited his past roles in some of Hollywood's biggest film franchises. While reflecting on "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" and his role as Jürgen Voller, a "former" Nazi obsessed with time travel, the actor recalled one silly on-set moment with Ford.
"I remember one of the first days, I was walking on the street in my personal clothes. It was in the studio. There were a lot of people around and he was far away, and then he just pointed at me and shouted, 'There's that Nazi!'" Mikkelsen said.
"And everybody turned around and looked at me and I was like, 'Oh geez, Harrison. Now I've got to explain to everybody I'm not a Nazi,'" he added.
Stunts like that were just par for the course with Ford, who famously once pretended to staple his Indiana Jones fedora to his head. Mikkelsen described his costar as "goofy all the time" on set.
"He's just an amazing man. A kid by heart, but also very serious in what he does," he said. "He makes everybody feel at home in the scene around him. He's a real gentleman."
