Bayern Munich will take a late fitness check on Harry Kane ahead of their Champions League clash against Aston Villa on Wednesday (8pm kick-off).

The striker trained at Bayern's training ground this morning before Vincent Kompany and his squad flew out to Birmingham. The England captain faced a race against time to ensure he was fit and available to face Villa after receiving a strong tackle in the draw against Bayern.

He came off in the 85th minute of the high-profile clash between Germany's top two clubs after being felled by Leverkusen star Amine Adli, a foul which Kane believes could've merited a sending off.

Kane, who has scored 10 goals in seven appearances for Bayern this season, received treatment on the pitch before limping off and being replaced by Thomas Muller for the remainder of the game at the Allianz Arena.

Asked about Kane's condition in his pre-match press conference, Kompany said: "I think you've seen that he was training today and that went well. We will sill have to wait until tomorrow to see how the situation is.

"Tomorrow we will make the correct decision. He trained with us today and hopefully everything will work out fine."

Bayern won their first Champions League league phase game 9-2 against Dinamo Zagreb, while Villa defeated BSC Young Boys 3-0 at the Wankdrof Stadium in Bern.
