Harry Kane is relishing the chance to link up with Tottenham teammates Steven Bergwijn and Gedson Fernandes when the Premier League season resumes.

Kane suffered a hamstring injury on New Year’s Day playing against Southampton that required surgery.

The setback was expected to see him miss the majority of the season run-in, but the Premier League’s shutdown during the coronavirus pandemic has given the England international a window to recover and will return to full group training on Monday.

Jose Mourinho brought in two January signings midway through the season in Bergwijn and Fernandes. Kane is yet to play alongside the new recruits but hopes to make up for lost time when the campaign resumes.

“I got injured on January 1 so I haven't seen too much of Gedson or Stevie, playing with or getting that connection,” Kane told the club’s website.

“I have been watching them play, it has been long enough without a game, especially when you have got top players who are new to the club and you want to be on the pitch with them.

“I am looking forward to it, I am looking forward to it, the squad is looking good, everyone is fully fit and ready to go. We will be working hard between now and the first game and hopefully we can finish strong in the last nine games.”
