Harry Kane says he 'loved' seeing wild celebrations across England after World Cup victory as one clip shows moment Boxpark Croydon erupted in ecstasy

Harry Kane has said he “loved” watching videos of supporters’ wild celebrations across England last night following a dramatic World Cup win.

The captain, who scored twice against Tunisia, said: “Seen some celebration videos from back home – love them.

“Your support is great we need you right behind us all the way.”

The match drew more viewers than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding, with 18.3 million people tuned in on TV and a record 3 million on iPlayer.

One video showed the moment hundreds of England fans erupted in pure ecstasy at Boxpark in Croydon as Kane headed in the match-winning goal in the 91st minute.

Hordes of fans at the south London venue had been stood in silence as the game appeared to be heading for a draw – but then Kane’s winner sparked complete chaos.

Footage shows limbs flailing, pints of beer flying through the air and supporters jumping over tables in order to dance and hug each other.

Chants of ‘football’s coming home’ began ringing out as the final whistle went, confirming England’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Tunisia.

Similar scenes took place across the country as fans enjoyed England’s first win at a World Cup since 2010.

Over-excited supporters stopped cars on Charing Cross Road in order to celebrate with the drivers, while footage showed one jubilant man climbing onto a car’s bonnet in Plymouth and subsequently being thrown off it.

The small contingent of England fans who made their journey to Volgograd for the match also rejoiced on the streets of the Russian city on Monday night.

Tom Law, 29, and Clark Roberts, 30, both from Coventry, emerged from the Volgograd Arena singing "Harry Kane, he's one of our own".

Mr Law said: "To get a last-minute winner, Harry Kane absolute legend.

"Getting the three points on the board, getting the World Cup under way. We're going to win it.”
