'Harry Potter' star Rupert Grint reveals how being a dad has changed his perspective

Rupert Grint has opened up about being a dad, saying it’s a “very different love”.

The Harry Potter star – best known for playing Ron Weasley in the film series – welcomed daughter Wednesday with his partner Georgia Groome last year.

He revealed to ComicBook.com how being a father had changed his perspective, as he discussed his role in the show Servant.

The Apple TV+ series is a horror about a couple named Dorothy and Sean whose child died, and comes back in a mysterious way.

Grint, who plays the baby’s uncle Julian, became a dad during filming and said: “It definitely has kind of changed my perspective on things but also in a helpful way.

“It was something I never really had much of an idea of, it was that kind of love, it's a very different love and kind of getting into the head space of Dorothy and the grief, what it means to lose a child is kind of unimaginable and kind of hones in on that kind of, you would do anything to get your child back.

“So yes, it's definitely helped in some ways."

Grint rose to fame in the film series based on JK Rowling’s popular books, starring in eight Harry Potter movies between 2001 and 2011.

His TV roles include Sky One comedy Sick Note and Agatha Christie adaption The ABC Murders for BBC.

He and Groome – who is best known for roles in the 2006 crime drama London To Brighton and the 2008 comedy Angus, Thongs And Perfect Snogging - have been together since 2011.

They welcomed their daughter in May last year.
