Harry Potter And The Temporary Traffic Lights: JK Rowling Blasted For Road Chaos Over Hedge Trim

Residents who live near Harry Potter author JK Rowling’s huge Edinburgh mansion are furious with the traffic chaos caused by her having her hedges trimmed.

Temporary four-way traffic lights have been set up outside the 49-year-old’s home while workers spend FOUR DAYS trimming the huge Leylandi bush outside her luxury home.

The 30ft plants have been worked on for three days so far - and the lights outside are causing huge tailbacks on the surrounding roads.

Angry residents have branded the situation as “chaos” and have blasted the author for the work.

One onlooker said: “The hedges are obviously to stop people looking into her property.

"It’s just taking ages for them to cut the bush back.

“The gardeners have been here three days and have finished the front of the garden.

"It’s chaos around there.

“The lights are taking too long to change, especially on the side roads.

There are long queues tailing back from the lights.”

Leylandii hedges are known to grow 3ft a year, forcing home owners to trim them down annually.

Reports that some drivers were shouting “wingardium leviosa” at their cars could not be verified.
