Harry Styles, the singer, has been forced to deny offering a homeless man cash to “have some fun” at a hotel.

The One Direction star was giving evidence against a 26-year-old Spaniard accused of stalking him outside his home in north London.

Pablo Tarazaga-Orero was convicted by District Judge Nigel Deane, who said it was “clear” that he had lied about being offered money by the singer, who he described as a "reliable and credible witness".

Tarazaga-Orero had spent several months camped outside Styles’ house between April and June this year, Hendon Magistrates Court heard.

Styles said that when he first spotted him sleeping in a bus stop outside his home he had felt sad that someone so young was sleeping rough when it was so cold.

But when he pulled up in his car and offered him some money to get a hotel room or some food, Tarazaga-Orero requested some edamame beans because he was vegan.

The next day, the singer bought him some food from a vegan cafe but said the man then asked if he wanted to go to a restaurant to eat, which he “fund a little odd”.

Styles told the court: “His facial expression made me feel a little uneasy.”

Tarazaga-Orero alleged that the singer had propositioned him, saying "’let's come to a hotel, let's have some fun', or something like that".

Styles denied ever offering the man money for "fun".

Judge Deane heard that Tarazaga-Orero had gone on to post notes and money through the singer’s letterbox.

Styles said the Spaniard’s presence had left him feeling "scared" and "very uncomfortable".

He revealed he now employs a night guard, locks his bedroom door at night and assesses his home for weak spots.

Tarazaga-Orero was arrested at Stansted airport in July as he returned from Spain.

Sentencing was adjourned at for reports and he was released on conditional bail.
