Jimmy Fallon and Harry Styles are set to clash egos on Saturday Night Live, at least going by a preview clip for this weekend's episode.

The Tonight Show presenter is on hosting duties, while the One Direction star is set to showcase his first single 'Sign of the Times' as musical guest… though we imagine he may pop up in a sketch or two.

However, to ramp up excitement for the pairing, the show has dropped a clip of the two together, and it seems they really are competing for attention.

In one scene, they try to walk in front of each other as they alternate lines to introduce the show's first live coast-to-coast episode, and in another they completely corpse as they do a swing-themed segment – ever professional, you guys!

Of course, this is not the first time the pair have crossed paths, Jimmy having done an impression of Harry on a past episode of SNL. Perhaps a revival is in order? Or, alternatively, Harry could get back at the host by trying a Jimmy impression?

Fallon will host the the first of the last four episodes of the season, which will be going live across the US for the first time – viewers in the mountain and pacific time zones previously saw the show via tape delay.

Meanwhile, Harry unveiled his debut single last week on Radio 1, sending social media into a frenzy. However, the song may miss out on the much-coveted number one spot due to a Spotify glitch.
