Harry Styles Sends Fans Into Tizzy With Plan ‘To Shave Head’ For His First Film Role In Dunkirk

It’s not quite piling on weight à la Robert De Niro in Raging Bull, or taking character immersion to the extremes of Daniel Day-Lewis.

But Harry Styles is said to be preparing to apply a little method acting for his acting debut.

The former One Direction singer is reportedly going to shave his head for a role in World War II drama Dunkirk.

A source was quoted by The Sun On Sunday newspaper saying the 22-year-old would also be cutting out certain meats to stay lean for the part.

The insider said: “He’s a bit of a health nut, practically a vegetarian these days. He never touches pork.”

His film debut will also require a military short back-and-sides, so it’s also reported he is going to shave off his locks for the film.

Fans have speculated he’s already had his head shorn for the role as he’s been wearing a lot of beanie hats lately, and some of them have vented on Twitter about how upset the sight of a bald Styles will make them, with one writing: ‘Put it under a bald cap – I’ll accept any Harry Styles hair over no Harry Styles hair.’

But Styles will also have to work on getting his acting chops up to scratch as Dunkirk stars Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Kenneth Branagh.

Tom Hardy is used to shaving off his hair for parts including Bane in Batman: The Dark Knight Rises.
