Harvey Barnes shows why he can save Newcastle United millions and Fabian Schar back with a bang

Newcastle United fought back from 1-0 down to snatch three very important Premier League points to climb to third in the Premier League table at Wolves.

It had looked like it was going to be a day to forget as Mario Lamina opened the scoring in the first half after a sluggish display from the Magpies. Head coach Eddie Howe shook things up at the break by introducing Harvey Barnes, Sandro Tonali and Joe Willock with the trio of changes making an impact.

And retired England full-back Kieran Trippier helped steady the ship in the second half as Fabian Schar's deflected strike and Barnes' wonder goal earned a big away win. Given Newcastle's search for a winger came to nothing this summer, perhaps the £39million can save more millions in the next window?

Here's how the Magpies rated overall at Molineux:

Nick Pope 8

Left exposed in the first half but made some fine saves including a late stunner to deny Matheus Cunha. Faced 14 shots in total.

Tino Livramento 5

Left chasing shadows for the opener and failed to take his opportunity here. A couple of moments of uncertainty. Taken off for Trippier after the hour.

Fabian Schar 8

Back with a bang as he provided the big moment to haul Newcastle back into the game.

Dan Burn 7

Some shaky moments and a yellow card but got through the game.

Lewis Hall 7

Recovered after leaving a big gap in the first half for Wolves opener.

Sean Longstaff 5

Lost the ball to help hand Wolves a gift-wrapped goal. Taken off at the break.

Bruno Guimaraes 7

Got better as the game went on and provided assist for Schar. Limped off with cramp.

Joelinton 5

Not at it for some reason. Taken off at the break.

Anthony Gordon 8

Clanged one against the post and impressed as false 9.

Jacob Murphy 6

Had a good chance in the first half but Johnstone saved. Had his moments.

Alexander Isak 6

Taken off at the break with a bang to the face. Didn't get much service.
