Harvey Barnes told what he must do to start for Newcastle United after Wolves wonder goal
Former Crystal Palace and Birmingham City striker Clinton Morrison believes Harvey Barnes should be starting for Newcastle United after his wonder goal against Wolves.
The Magpies winger has been one of the standout performers for Eddie Howe's side so far this season, with two goals and one assist in just four Premier League appearances this season. The 26-year-old has played just 158 minutes in the top flight this season, starting just one Premier League fixture - the 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur where he scored the opening goal of the game.
After an injury hit campaign last season, Barnes was mainly used from the bench, with Anthony Gordon ahead of him in the pecking order out on the left-hand side of the pitch. However, with Newcastle struggling out on the right in terms of goal contributions, Howe has tinkered with a front three of Alexander Isak and both Gordon and Barnes, shifting last season's player of the year out onto the right.

It's a set-up that Newcastle fans are clamouring for after the opening four games of the campaign, with Barnes now boasting a better goal return than Gordon so far this season. The former Leicester City winger has had a devastating impact when on the pitch, helping the Toon win seven points so far this season.
Morrison believes Barnes' goal against Wolves at Molineux is the reason he should be starting week in, week out for Newcastle and all he has to do to nail down a place is keep performing.
“All the substitutions who came on played a big part for Newcastle,” Morrison said on BBC Radio 5 live. “What a goal from Harvey Barnes to win a football match and that’s why he should be starting. All Barnes can do is keep producing performances like that because it’s a wonder goal.”
