Los Angeles prosecutors are reviewing three sexual assault cases against Harvey Weinstein, adding new avenues for the fallen Hollywood mogul to potentially face criminal charges.
A spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney confirmed the office’s sexual assault task force was reviewing three cases forwarded by the Los Angeles Police Department.
It has already been examining two cases involving Weinstein brought by the Beverly Hills Police Department.
Dozens of women have accused the influential producer of sexual misconduct, allegations that Weinstein has rejected as false.
As the fallout from the allegations against Weinstein have rippled outward, helping to fuel the #MeToo movement which has brought down powerful men accused of sexual impropriety, multiple law enforcement organisations have said they were investigating him.
In November, a New York City Police Department official said authorities were building a rape case against Weinstein based on “credible and detailed” allegations from actress Paz de La Huerta.
Authorities in London have also said they were examining allegations against him.
Through a representative, Weinstein has “unequivocally denied” any allegations of non-consensual relationships.
