The talk show blended comedic and political elements over the course of six seasons, but the genre itself has struggled on the streaming service lately.
Responding to the news on social media yesterday (August 18), Hasan himself wrote: "What a run. @patriotact has come to an end. I got to work with the best writers, producers, researchers, and animators in the game.
"My 2 babies were born and grew up with the show. TY to @Netflix and everyone who watched. Now it's time to return these screens to Best Buy."
The show's cancellation hasn't gone down well at all with his followers, as one individual commented: "As a journalist (and fan) I am devastated by this. It is a huge loss for the country. You were able to reach people about important issues in a way I never could in print — and in many cases, you were the only one talking about those issues.

"What an absolute shame..."
Another viewer shared: "Can't wait to see what you do next Hasan, congratulations on an incredible run," while a third mourned the news with: "My 12-year-old introduced me to your show. I honestly don't know where he is going to find such well-researched and informed content delivered with such passion and humour.
"Thank you for elevating the conversation. Excited to see what's next for you."
You can watch all six seasons of Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj on Netflix.
