There's going to be another comic book adaptation hitting Netflix, titled – quite terrifyingly – Something is Killing the Children.

The adaptation of writer James Tynion IV and illustrator Werther Dell'Edera's comic comes from Trevor Macy and Mike Flanagan – the pair behind The Haunting of Hill House – so it is definitely in the right hands.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pair are co-writing and executive producing a pilot for Something is Killing the Children.

The comic was released in 2019 through BOOM! Studios – who will also be producing the series.

The comic's official synopsis reads: "When the children of Archer's Peak begin to go missing, everything seems hopeless. Most children never return, but the ones that do have terrible stories – impossible stories of terrifying creatures that live in the shadows.

"Their only hope of finding and eliminating the threat is the arrival of a mysterious stranger, one who believes the children and claims to see what they can see. Her name is Erica Slaughter. She kills monsters. That is all she does, and she bears the cost because it MUST be done."

Sounds just as terrifying as the title suggests.

The Haunting of Hill House spin-off The Haunting of Bly Manor aired last year and featured several Hill House cast members as well as new actors in a story loosely based on the 1898 Henry James novella The Turn of the Screw.
