Get excited Marvel fans, as we may (and we put a very strong emphasis on the may) be getting an appearance from Hawkeye in the upcoming Ant-Man sequel.

According to the latest rumour, star Jeremy Renner might have signed up to join Ant-Man and the Wasp, which sounds very tantalizing.

Website showbiz411 – which has been on the money in the past – reports that Renner will not be doing Mission: Impossible 6, feeling that two of those was enough.

Instead, he has reportedly opted to do two Avengers movies as Hawkeye, aka Clint Barton – Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

In the past, the site accurately reported that Rebecca Ferguson would be in the next Mission: Impossible movie, so it could be worth taking this rumour with a bit more than the traditional pinch of salt.

The casting wouldn't be the unlikeliest in the world, considering Barton successfully teamed up with Ant-Man, aka Scott Lang, in Captain America: Civil War.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to deal with the events after Civil War, so considering they're both sort of fugitives now, a Hawkeye/Ant-Man collaboration would make a lot of sense.

We will just have to wait and see what goes down when Avengers: Infinity WarPart 1 is released in April 2018, and Ant-Man and the Wasp in July.
