As the Harry and Meghan drama rumbles on, HBO Max has announced plans for a satirical comedy series about the royal family.

The series, titled The Prince, has been masterminded by Family Guy writer Gary Janetti, who runs an Instagram account which pokes fun at the royals by imagining things from Prince George’s point of view.

The Prince will also take its cue from Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eldest son, with Janetti providing the voice for the six-year-old.

He’ll be joined by an all-star cast with Orlando Bloom providing the voice for Prince Harry and Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon voicing Prince William.

Tom Hollander will voice Prince Philip and Prince Charles, while Frances De La Tour will provide the Queen’s clipped tones.

Alan Cumming will voice one of the few entirely fictional characters, George’s butler, Owen.

The Prince will debut on HBO Max, the network’s streaming service, and there’s no word yet on if or when it will be aired in the UK.

Sharing her excitement at the commission, HBO Max boss Sarah Aubrey said (via Deadline): “We’re so excited to bring the world Gary’s created on Instagram over to HBO Max, where our viewers can discover what his Instagram fans already know – that George can be hilarious, shocking, and surprisingly sweet.

“We can’t wait to see what Gary does with a bigger canvas to paint on than just a 1:1 square.”
