Heart Breakfast's Amanda Holden set to switch on Christmas lights in one of Surrey's wealthiest villages

Britain's Got Talent judge and Heart Breakfast DJ Amanda Holden is set to join the community of one of Surrey's wealthiest villages to turn on this year's Christmas lights.

The media personality and actress will be in Oxshott for the village's Christmas Spectacular this weekend on Sunday (November 24). The village plans to pull out all the stops to which is happening this weekend, on Sunday November 24. Oxshott Village is pulling out all the stops this year to celebrate the beginning of the festive season, with a range of star-studded appearances and performances, a Santa's grotto, magical light displays and much more.

Beginning at 4pm, Oxshott's Christmas Spectacular will not only feature Amanda Holden as the special guest who flips switch, but there will also be appearances from social media stars and performances from Britain’s Got Talent finalists, well-known DJs and some secret special guests.

Organisers say that everyone is welcome to visit Oxshott for this year's Christmas Spectacular, as the village is the perfect quaint location to start your build up to Christmas.

The Victoria pub on the high street will be hosting Santa and his grotto in their newly built garden, the festivities will also be welcomed into the pub itself which boasts an impressive three AA Rosettes, where it plans to showcase a modern twist on mulled wine.

Additionally, with the help of luxury event coordinators, Eriera House, the streets of the village are set to be transformed into a winter wonderland via snow cannons to create a picturesque setting for the evening’s celebrations.

In recent years, Oxshott has become 'a hotbed of celebrities' living in the area, with the village encompassing an impressive amount of multi-million pound mansions.

Oxshott is acclaimed as one of the best commuter villages in England, being a short drive away from Chessington World of Adventures and a small train journey to London. However, because of the esteemed reputation of the village, house prices are some of the highest in Surrey, according to Rightmove, in 2023 the average property price in the area is £2,106,016, this is a mind-blowing figure when you consider Rightmove estimates the average house price in Surrey is £604,447 over the last year.

Amanda is best known for her role as a judge on Britain's Got Talent but nowadays is the host of the Heart Radio Breakfast show with Jamie Theakston, according to Heart, this show is the biggest commercial radio show in the UK, with 4.6 million listeners.

Social media stars coming to Oxshott this Sunday to join on the festivities are YouTubers Dad v Girls, and the social media group Golf Life Legends. YouTube based family group Dad v Girl is a well-loved family YouTube channel with 1.6 million subscribers and features challenge videos of amongst a family of a mother, father and six daughters. The other social media-based special guests are Golf Life Legends, a golf-orientated social media conglomerate which features many videos with sporting celebrities.

Not only will Oxshott Christmas Spectacular feature appearances from both celebrities and e-celebrities, the line-up will also include live music performances from Britain’s Got Talent finalist Wayne Woodward, who will be unveiling songs from his brand-new Christmas album. In addition, former Northern Line boy band member Dan Corsi will be spinning all types of festive tunes as DJ, ensuring the energy stays high throughout the evening.

Local businesses across Oxshott will be joining in on the festive community feeling, businesses will stay open to showcase their specialities, giving people the perfect opportunity to get some Christmas gifts that they wouldn't be able to get anywhere else.
