Heartbreaking family detail emerges as body found in Michael Mosley search

Dr Michael Mosley's children were heartbreakingly close to the spot where his body was found on the Greek island of Symi, it has been reported. His adult children - Alex, Jack, Dan and Kate - had flown to the small island on Saturday to help join the search for their dad.

According to reports, they were only around 350ft from the spot where his body was discovered close to a cave on a rocky beach in Agia Marina. They had reportedly been in the area on Saturday, before the tragic discovery was made on Sunday morning.

Greek police have confirmed that the body found in the search is Dr Mosley. A police spokesman said they had identified him using his watch and clothes.

The body was also reportedly found near to a distinctive umbrella that Dr Mosley had been carrying in the last sightings of him on CCTV.

The search for Dr Mosley was sparked on Wednesday when he disappeared after going for a walk on the Greek island of Symi. He had left St Nicholas beach on Wednesday afternoon and his body was discovered around three miles away.

Dr Mosley was last seen on CCTV on Wednesday afternoon at 1.30pm heading towards the village of Pedi. The last sighting was at a house at the end of the bay in Pedi heading towards Agia Marina. Temperatures at the time were around 37C.
