Heartbreaking Video Shows ‘Alone Girl’ Treated Differently Depending On How Clean She Looks

How would you treat a six-year-old girl apparently abandoned in public? We’d all like to think we’d help them find their parents or help of some kind, but this upsetting new video shows that isn’t always the case.

Unicef dressed child actor Anano in nice clothes and put her alone on the street in Tbilisi, Georgia, to see how people reacted.

Many stopped and asked her name and tried to help her find her way home.

But Unicef then dressed Anano in rags and dirtied up her face to see if the reaction was the same; but no one came to her aid.

Next, they tried the same experiment in a restaurant but had to call it off when Anano, dressed in the dirty, ragged clothes, got too upset.

In just seven hours, the hard-hitting video had amassed over 20,000 shares and disbelief from viewers.

If you find yourself in this situation, here’s what Unicef advises you to do:

  1. Introduce yourself and ask where the child’s parents are.

  2. If they can’t be contacted, call the hotline of your country’s social service agency and tell them the whereabouts of the child. They will then come to examine the situation and offer existing services to the

  3. Stay with the child until the team arrives.
