Heartless thieves steal 'essential lifesaving equipment' from fire engine
Police are appealing for information after thieves reportedly broke into a fire station in Staffordshire. Lifesaving equipment was taken from inside a fire engine at Brewood Fire Station, officers have said.
A 'significant amount' was stolen in the incident in the early hours of this morning (Monday, October 28). Police were called at 4.15am following reports that hundreds of pounds worth of specialist cutting equipment and tools had been taken.
The items are used in road traffic collisions when people are trapped in vehicles. A number of saws, an angle grinder, an impact driver, a socket set and a yellow hydraulic hand pump were taken in the incident.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We are appealing for information after Brewood Fire Station, in south Staffordshire, was broken into. A significant amount of essential lifesaving equipment was stolen from one of the fire engines.
"We were called at 4.15am this morning (Monday 28 October) to reports that several hundred pounds worth of specialist cutting equipment, and tools used to deal with road traffic collisions had been stolen from the station on Bargate Lane at approximately 4.09am.
"The stolen items include a Milwaukee tool bag containing a number of saws, an angle grinder, an impact driver and a socket set, as well as a yellow hydraulic hand pump."
They added: "Anyone with any information or relevant CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage is asked to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 44 of 28 October. To report anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
