Heartless vandals steal from children's graves and set keepsakes on fire
The hunt is on to find cruel and heartless vandals who stole belongings from the graves of children and set them on fire. North Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for the public's help.
The thefts happened in Redcar Cemetery with vandals targeting two graves of children before or on Saturday, November 23. One grave had items set on fire while Disney characters, a wooden barrier and stones were stolen from another.
The families are said to be in "great distress" as a result of the heartless act. A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Naturally this has caused great distress to the family involved and our thoughts are with them.
