'Heated' row in Heckmondwike pub spills into street - full police statement
Police have arrested a 64-year-old man after a "heated" row in a Heckmondwike pub landed one man in hospital with injuries and another in a custody cell. Officers were called to The Wike Horse shortly after 11pm on Monday night (September, 24) after a fight broke out in the street between two men who had been drinking in the pub that night.
Police confirmed one man, who is in his 50's, was taken to hospital and a 64-year-old man has been arrested and is currently in custody. Police cordoned off the street until the early hours of this morning. West Yorkshire Police have now issued a statement asking for any witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called at 11.02pm last night (Monday, September 24) to a report that a man had been assaulted on Market Place, Heckmondwike. It was reported that the victim and suspect were involved in a heated argument in the Wike Horse pub before a physical altercation took place outside.

"The injured man, who is aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital where he is being treated for a number of injuries. A 64-year-old man has been arrested and is currently in custody."
