Heather Locklear was reportedly hospitalised suffering an alleged overdose just hours after she was arrested on suspicion of attacking a police officer and ambulance worker.

According to celebrity news website TMZ, emergency services were called to the California home of the 56-year-old American actress yesterday afternoon after receiving a call about a suspected “overdose.”

The star of Dynasty and Melrose Place is reportedly being treated at a nearby hospital. A source told the site her condition is stable.

The reported incident came just hours after Locklear was arrested on suspicion of fighting with paramedics who came to her property on Sunday night.

Ventura County sheriff captain Garo Kuredjian said they were investigating a dispute between the actress and either family members or friends.

He said Locklear kicked one of the deputies then assaulted a paramedic. He confirmed she was taken to a hospital then to jail and charged on two misdemeanour battery counts.

Locklear was released on bail.

According to TMZ, it appears Locklear did not check in to the treatment facility voluntarily.
