Heathrow fire: 200 guests evacuated after blaze breaks out at sauna in hotel near airport

Around 200 guests were evacuated after a fire broke out at a hotel near Heathrow Airport.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to reports of a fire in a sauna inside the Radiddon Blu Edwardian on Bath Road, Heathrow at around 4.12pm.

Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters battled for two hours to bring the fire under control. No-one was injured in the incident.

Pictures from the scene showed a huge emergency services response, with five ambulances and two police cars also at the scene.

A ground floor sauna and plant were destroyed, and the cause of the fire is being investigated, LFB said.

A spokesman for LFB said: "Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a fire at a hotel on Bath Road, Heathrow.

"A ground floor sauna and plant room were destroyed by the blaze. Around 200 hotel guests and around 120 staff left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries."
