‘Heaven has gained a beautiful angel’: Tributes paid to ‘lovely’ 16-year-old girl found ‘electrocuted’ on train tracks

Devastated friends have paid tribute to a “lovely” 16-year-old girl found dead on train tracks after being "electrocuted".

The teenager, named locally as Taiyah Pebbles, was with her friends near Herne Bay station in Kent shortly before 11pm on Tuesday.

Her body was discovered at the station shortly before 7am on Wednesday.

Friends have taken to social media to pay tribute to "beautiful" Taiyah, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saskia Lang said: “You will never be forgotten especially with the memories we've had.

“I know we haven't spoken in ages or seen each other in ages but I will never forget you and the memories we had together and the things we have done together.

“Heaven has gained another beautiful angle but you was taken from us too soon.

“Now it's time to rest in peace with all the other beautiful and live your life up in heaven my thoughts go out to the family.”

Emily Clayson said simply: “Sleep tight princess.”

Alex Lambert added: "She was such a lovely girl, my thoughts be with her family and friends.”

Taiyah sustained serious injuries believed to be caused by electrocution, police said.

Her death is being treated as unexplained while officers conduct investigations into how she received the injuries.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Langley, of British Transport Police, said: "What we know so far is that the girl was with a group of friends near the station shortly before 11pm yesterday evening.

"Some time between then and 7am this morning, she came to receive these injuries.

"Therefore, I would be looking to speak with anyone who might have been near to Herne Bay station during this period."

The teenager’s family have been informed. A post mortem examination is due to take place on Friday.
