Heavy Rain Brings Flooding to South Carolina's Rock Hill

Officials closed roads in parts of South Carolina as heavy rain associated with Tropical Storm Debby triggered flash flooding on Thursday, August 8.

The National Weather Service (NWS) estimated between 4 and 7 inches of rain had fallen across eastern York County as of 1:37 pm, with additional rainfall possible.

Footage taken by the York County Sheriff shows flooding in Rock Hill on Thursday, where officials estimated that a foot of water was covering the intersection of Milling and Ogden roads.

A flash flood warning would remain in effect until 5 pm, the NWS said. Credit: York County Sheriff via Storyful
