Heavy rain to drench Surrey as Met Office warns flooding possible during 14 hour weather warning
The sunshine across Surrey is set to be replaced by up to 14 hours of rain. The Met Office has issued a weather warning for heavy rainfall with flooding also 'likely' for nearly the entire south of England.
The yellow warning is set to be in place from 10pm on Tuesday, November 26 to midday Wednesday, November 27. Weather forecasters warned of flooding of a few homes and businesses, an increased likelihood of interruptions to power supplies and they have also warned road and train to should expect increased journey times.
The warning area covers the entire south and east of Surrey, including Dorking, Redhill and Reigate, the Surrey Hills, Guildford, Godalming and Haslemere but excludes areas around Woking and Weybridge. However, the areas outside the warning zone will not escape the rain, as downpours are forecast overnight and into Wednesday morning.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "An area of rain is expected to reach parts of southern England overnight Tuesday, becoming persistent and heavy in places for a time. Much of the warning area will see 15-20mm of rain with 30-40mm in some areas.
"There is a lower chance of 50 mm of rain in a few places, more likely for the Isle of Wight, Sussex and Kent, before rain eases and clears by early afternoon. Given recent wet weather, some disruption to travel and infrastructure is likely."
The Met Office has advised that people give themselves "best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables" and to prepare in advance for the potential of power cuts by "consider(ing) gathering torches and batteries, a mobile phone power pack and other essential items."
It seems as if Surrey is set to experience another couple days of wet weather, following last weekend's strong winds and rain courtesy of Storm Bert. According to the Met Office's forecast, the county is not set to experience much rain later in the week, with temperatures also set to rise compared to last week, with most days sitting at a predicted average of 10C.
