Heavy Rain Floods Southern British Columbia Amid Persistent Storms

Evacuation alerts were in place in multiple areas of Abbotsford, British Columbia, on Sunday, November 14, as an atmospheric river brought heavy rain and flooding to the southern part of the province.

Video posted to Twitter by Catrina Jackson shows floodwaters rushing over a road in the Clayburn Village area of Abbotsford on Sunday night, Jackson said.

Environment Canada said on Sunday that a “significant atmospheric river event is bringing copious amounts of rain and near record temperatures to the British Columbia south coast.”

Police said there were no injuries after small mudslides affected 14 properties.
