Hurricane Nicholas was downgraded to a tropical storm by the National Hurricane Center in the early morning of September 14 after reaching the Texas coast.
Nicholas made landfall as a hurricane in Matagorda, bringing maximum sustained winds of 75 mph and a “dangerous” storm surge.
Around 360,000 customers were without power in Texas, according to poweroutage.us.
